Description

Delightful spicy pickles that add excitement and flavor to your salads.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Cucumbers
  • 1 cup Vinegar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Sugar (to taste)
  • 2 tsp Chili Flakes
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • Optional: Slices of Jalapeño or a dash of Cayenne Pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cucumbers by washing and slicing them into rounds or spears.
  2. Mix equal parts of vinegar and water in a saucepan, and add sugar to taste. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add chili flakes, garlic cloves, and any extra spices you prefer.
  4. Pour the hot brine over the cucumbers in a jar, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  5. Seal the jar tightly and let it cool before transferring it to the fridge.
  6. Marinate for at least 24 hours for optimal flavor, though a few days is even better.

Notes

For extra crunch, use Kirby cucumbers. Experiment with spices for unique flavors.
