Description

A classic homemade Red sauce that elevates various dishes with its vibrant flavor and versatility.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ripe tomatoes or 1 can (28 oz) of good-quality canned tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Sauté minced garlic and chopped onions until translucent.
  3. Add tomatoes, salt, pepper, and herbs to the pan.
  4. Simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
