Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter a 9-inch skillet or baking dish.
- Whisk 2 large eggs with 3/4 cup sugar until smooth in a bowl.
- Add 1/2 cup melted butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
- Stir in 3/4 cup milk.
- Whisk 1 3/4 cups flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in another bowl.
- Fold the dry mix into the wet mix until just combined.
- Fold in 1 cup berries or chocolate chips if using.
- Pour into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25–35 minutes until golden and set.
- Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use room-temperature eggs and milk for a smoother batter. Avoid overmixing to keep the cake tender.
