Description
A comforting bowl inspired by the classic Philly cheesesteak, featuring tender steak, sautéed vegetables, and gooey cheese over rice or quinoa.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups cooked rice or quinoa
- Provolone cheese, shredded
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, cooking until tender, about 5 minutes.
- Push the vegetables to the side and add the sliced sirloin steak, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until the steak is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Serve the steak and vegetable mixture over cooked rice or quinoa.
- Top with provolone cheese and let it melt.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For best results, avoid overcooking the steak for tenderness. Consider marinating the steak overnight for enhanced flavor.
