Description

Delightful homemade fried apples, combining tender fruit with brown sugar and cinnamon for a comforting treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium to large apples
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Select the right apples, preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
  2. Peel and slice the apples into thin wedges.
  3. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the apple slices to the skillet.
  5. Sauté the apples gently for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  6. Sprinkle in the brown sugar and cinnamon, mixing well to coat the apples.
  7. Continue cooking for another 10-15 minutes until apples are tender and caramelized.
  8. Remove from heat to prevent overcooking.

Notes

Serve warm as a side to pancakes or as a dessert over ice cream. Add a sprinkle of nutmeg for extra flavor.
