Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Oil (for frying)

  2. Add the flour all at once and stir until the mixture pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time until smooth and well mixed.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Use a piping bag fitted with a star tip to pipe strips of dough into the hot oil.
  7. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  8. Remove churros and drain on paper towels.
  9. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and coat the churros while still warm.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, ensure your oil temperature is accurate and fry in small batches to prevent overcrowding.
